CALIFORNIA SONG: HEDI SLIMANE

IDENTITY DESIGN
COLLATERAL

Photographer, film-maker, and fashion designer Hedi Slimane commissioned CWP in 2012 to design, fabricate, and install his first West Coast solo museum exhibition, California Song, at the Museum Of Contemporary Art Pacific Design Center. The exhibition spanned the artist’s “California period” and traced his explorations of cycles of urban youth culture and artistic communities, through installations of photographic essays, exhibitions, and publications. The Los Angeles band No Age performed live as part of the opening event.

In anticipation of the event, CWP additionally designed and produced a robust press campaign that included billboards, printed adverts, and a zine publication.
