IDENTITY DESIGN
When Commonwealth Projects speaks about bolstering the Los Angeles creative community, celebrated tattoo artist Dr. Woo is one of the key figures in that discussion. In approaching the relatively straightforward project needs from Woo, we wanted to marry an interpretation of his playful illustrative hand with the notion of “precision” as it relates to his meticulous linework. Supplementing the logotype is an assortment of materials that loosely speak to both the wit behind the wordplay “doctor and his needles” and the classic American mid-century era that relates to Woo’s history as an artist at the infamous Shamrock. All of these elements combined at play create a well-rounded, simple, and confident brand.
